Amusement Park Getaways
Spend a classic family vacation with your kids and
head to their favorite amusement park! Amusement park getaways are
quickly becoming a hot family favorite, allowing visitors to spend all
day screaming their heads off on the white-knuckle rides, then retire to
a fantastic resort or hotel nearby to rest up for another day of
entertainment and action. These getaways are becoming so popular that
adults are ditching the kids for a night, weekend, or entire week at
their favorite amusement park destination.
The folks at the Disney Corporation hold the torch
for amusement park getaways. This could not be more evident than a
simple trip to Orlando to visit the “house of the mouse,” Walt Disney
World. Boasting four amusement parks, Magic Kingdom, MGM Studios,
Animal Kingdom, and Epcot Center, two water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and
Blizzard Beach, and countless quality themed resorts, a trip to Walt
Disney World is unforgettable. Generally speaking, the cheapest way to
enjoy a stay at Walt Disney World is to purchase a package that includes
accommodations with admission tickets for the entire family. With
resorts that range in price from the luxurious Grand Floridian to the
budget friendly All Star Sports, Movies, and Sports resorts, there is
something for everyone in Florida.
Although Walt Disney World may be the Crown Jewel
of the Disney properties, most folks make the trek to Anaheim,
California to visit the park that started it all: Disneyland. Much like
the lodging options in Orlando, Disneyland boasts fantastic resorts in a
wide range of prices to accommodate guests with all budgets. In
addition to Disneyland, Anaheim is home to the California Adventure
theme park where Mickey and all his pals hang out in the Wild West
theme.
Williamsburg, Virginia is known for its historic
architecture and buildings dating back to Colonial times. Many visitors
flock to the area to relive this important time in the country’s
history, but many more come to Williamsburg for thrilling rides and
entertaining shows of Busch Gardens. This theme park allows visitors an
international experience, as each section of the park is dedicated to a
different country. Busch Gardens has more to offer in the way of spine
tingling roller coasters and other action packed rides, but also has a
children’s area for the smaller visitors who are not up to riding the
more intense rides. Right next door to Busch Gardens is Water Country,
USA, which allows visitors to cool off from the hot Southern days by
splashing around in wave pools and water slides. There are many nearby
hotels that offer shuttle service to both parks in form of packages.
Even though Disney may be king in Florida and
California, the two Universal Studios parks are quickly becoming popular
with an older crowd. This is especially true with Universal Studios
Florida’s Islands of Adventure, which allows visitors to fly like
Superman and swing like Spiderman. Going behind the scenes with popular
movies including “Jaws” and “Jurassic Park” to frighten, amuse, and
entertain daredevils of all ages. |
