High Rolling Vegas Vacations
Las Vegas is one of the hottest vacation destinations in the country and
draws millions of visitors from all walks of life. From the ever popular
one-arm bandits to out of this world dining experiences, Las Vegas has
changed a great deal from the tacky glitz and free drinks of the 1950s.
The spell of touting Vegas as a family friendly destination is over, but
kids can still find suitable activities and attractions to keep them
entertained; however, Vegas is—and always will be—the world’s greatest
adult playground.
However, before you book your classic Vegas vacation, be sure to
evaluate the high and the low of traveling to the oasis in the desert.
Usually, folks associate Vegas with its most popular nickname, “Sin
City.” Although a far cry from Sodom and Gomorrah, Las Vegas’ legalized
gambling laws can make some visitors a bit uncomfortable. However, there
are great many more things to do in Las Vegas besides throw your hard
earned cash at the tables.
Art and culture is a booming business in the desert, with the Bellagio’s
Gallery of Fine Art and the epic restaurant, Picasso, which features
world famous artwork by the eccentric master. The Wynn Collection
features priceless works by Van Gogh and Matisse, while the Guggenheim
Hermitage in the Venetian Resort Hotel serves as a unique joint venture
between St. Petersburg’s State Hermitage Museum and the Solomon R.
Guggenheim Foundation.
Experience the unique culture of Las Vegas with fabulous museums paying
tribute to local legends, including the Liberace Museum housing the
ivory tinkler’s flamboyant pianos and the Elvis-a-Rama Museum,
exhibiting the king’s sequin bedecked jumpsuits. Check out the Casino
Legends Hall of Fame at the Tropicana Hotel and see just how high a high
roller can get. Finally, the Neon Museum is working to preserve the
history of Las Vegas and now houses the glitzy signs that drew in
visitors to casinos in days gone by.
Head off the strip and into the great wide open to explore beautiful
Lake Mead and the world famous Hoover Dam. Standing an impressive 726.4
feet tall and holding back the mighty Colorado River, Hoover Dam is a
monument in concrete and steel to engineering and ingenuity. Once the
dam was built, the stunning Lake Mead was formed and the body of water
is now the perfect spot for fishing, boating, swimming, and all types of
water sports. The perpetually warm temperatures make Las Vegas and the
surrounding area perfect for enjoying the great outdoors.
Las Vegas is perfect for budget minded travelers, as the city is stocked
with free activities and events. From the elegant dancing fountains at
the Bellagio to the hot action at the tables, Vegas is easy on the
wallet. Enjoy world class dining on a budget at any of the quality
buffets and restaurants in the city or spend your time lounging by the
pool and soaking up the sun. Whatever the activity, Las Vegas is an
excellent destination for all ages of visitors with all expectations.
Try your hand with Lady Luck or check out a first class show by
performers such as Celine Dion or the Blue Man Group, whatever you do,
you are sure to enjoy a memorable trip to the oasis in the desert.
